Affiliate disclosure

In one sentence: if you click a link here and buy something, the seller pays us, and you pay the same as you would have anyway.

The longer version

Most outbound links to products on this site are affiliate links. When you follow one, the seller's system records that you arrived from us. If you then buy, we receive a percentage of the sale as commission.

This costs you nothing. The price is identical whether you reach the seller through us, through a search engine, or by typing their address directly. We can't offer you a discount and we don't get one.

What this does and doesn't buy

No seller pays us to write a review, pays for a better verdict, sees a review before publication, or has any right to alter or remove one. Commission is paid on sales, by programmes that anyone can join, on terms we don't negotiate.

But we won't pretend that removes the incentive. We earn more if you buy than if you don't, and no disclosure statement makes that go away. What we do about it is structural rather than verbal: on every review, the limitations and the list of people who should not buy the product appear above the link, not below it. If you ever find that order reversed on this site, we've slipped, and we'd like to hear about it.

Advertising

We sometimes pay to place links to our reviews on search engines. Paying to bring you to a review doesn't change what the review says; the pages we advertise are the same pages linked from our homepage.

Entertainment products

Some products reviewed here — psychic readings, sketches, astrological and similar services — are sold by their creators for entertainment purposes only. Where that's the case we say so on the review, because it's the single most important fact about what you're buying.

Retailers

Where a purchase is handled by a third-party retailer rather than the seller directly, we name that retailer in the review, because it determines who processes your refund. ClickBank is the retailer for some products referenced on this site. ClickBank's role as retailer does not constitute an endorsement, approval or review of these products or any claim, statement or opinion used in their promotion.
